Child and his toy.

Pinwheel,Boy,Happiness,Playing
I was out to Zoo Negara yesterday and took many photographs of the beautiful animals there.  However, the best photo I took was not of any animal but of a child enjoying this new toy that his parents bought him.  This is by far my favorite candid that I've taken.

All is peaceful.  All is quiet.

Rainy day

At home.

Feeling trapped for the past few days, somber and down due to the gloomy overcast and the rain, day in and day out.

Cape Point

Cape Point.  Capetown, South Africa.
The historic light house path leading up to the Cape Point light house in Cape Town, South Africa.  This was my only visit to the African continent during a company trip.

My Strength, Joy and Happiness.

Islander Hotel. Surfer's Paradise, Australia.
The woman I met and fell in love with more than 15 years ago.  She's not just my wife and friend, but also my strength, joy and happiness.

My inspiration

King's Park.  Perth, Australia.

I never knew what family really meant until I had kids of my own.  As they grew up, so did I.  I finally understood why my father did what he did for us.

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to my blog.

I've had an interest in photography for a long time now, but I've never been into it for long stretches at a time.  I bought my first real camera, the Canon EOS 888 in the mid nineties, when I was on a trip to Singapore.  I traveled quite a bit, and took mostly casual photos.  Kind'a used my film SLR as an advanced point and shoot.  But after a few years, I kind of lost interest.

A few weeks ago, as my wedding anniversary approached, my interest in photography came back.  So I went out and bought a Canon EOS 450D.  This digital SLR is a nice piece of hardware.  It is an entry level body with features and functions that, I feel, are perfect for a casual hobbyist like me.

I hope to be able to capture some really nice photos with my 450D, photos that capture a moment in time, that tell a story that I probably could not describe in my own words.  I'll be posting those stolen moments here, but the rest of the photos will be on my Picasa site.

Do visit me often to enjoy the images that I present...
